Google is preparing to redesign the Weather app for Android devices, which was last updated globally in 2021, when Google switched all the standard services to the Material Theme style. Now the company is introducing the Material You style, so the weather informer will soon get another major redesign.
The current version has three main tabs (“Today”, “Tomorrow”, “10 days”), which you can scroll to get more information. The new version, on the other hand, will have just one general tab.
It will retain the traditional location search area and Froggy’s mascot. Below that will be the hourly forecast for the day, followed by a 10-day forecast. The color scheme will probably be customized to match the system theme.
There’s no word yet on the timing of the Weather update for Android. Perhaps the update will be launched after Google I/O, which starts on May 10.
